Definition:
This ancient Chinese practice, which has been refined over the centuries,
is a moving system of exercise, medication and self-defense. The rhythmic
breathing and choreography (sometimes described as “weightless
body swimming in the air”) calm the mind and energize the body.
The basic principles of this ‘inner art’ are relaxation,
breath awareness and shifting weight. Tai Chi focuses on opening the
body to allow the “chi” or “life force” to
flow freely.
